Welcome
to
the
Ben
Glasser
Group
website
in
the
Department
of
Chemical
and
Biochemical
Engineering
at
Rutgers
University.
Our
group
is
concentrated
in
the
area
of
fluid-particle
and
granular
flows/processes.
The
research
is
focused
on
applying
this
fundamental
understanding
to
improve
the
design
and
operation
of
chemical
and
pharmaceutical
processes.
We
study
the
mechanics
of
these
systems
through
combined
numerical,
theoretical
and
experimental
efforts.
Particle
dynamic
simulations
and
experiments
on
model
systems
are
carried
out
to
explore
the
physical
mechanisms
governing
the
flows.
Current
work
is
in
the
following
general
areas:
flow
and
segregation
of
granular
materials
and
powders,
the
mechanics
of
fluidized
beds,
multiphase
flows
and
reactors,
nonlinear
dynamics
of
transport
processes
in
fluid-particle
systems,
drying
of
particulates,
pharmaceutical engineering, and catalyst manufacturing.
